About the event
As defined by the EPA, "Environmental Justice" is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. If all people are going to be treated with dignity and respect, they need to have access to healthy and sustainable environments while recognizing that official policy and procedures have not been equitable for all populations.
Join the University of Pittsburgh for this new speaker series. Beth Weinberger, EHP Director of Research and Policy, kicked off the series with a presentation on the topic of environmental justice. All talks are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will last for approximately 45-60 minutes. The talks are available online and are free and open to the public. Register here.
