About the event

This June will mark the fifth anniversary of the 43rd Statewide Grand Jury Report on the shale gas industry. Led by Governor Shapiro (then Attorney General), this investigation found that Pennsylvania failed to properly protect residents from harm during the shale gas boom. Join Protect PT, EHP, the Center for Coalfield Justice, the Sierra Club, and Earthworks to review the Grand Jury's eight recommendations for how Pennsylvania can do better and assess our government's progress in enacting these goals. We will hear from environmental health experts, ask essential questions, and take a look at what comes next for our state.

Download EHP's white paper, Pennsylvania’s Shale Gas Boom: What the Shapiro Administration Can Do to Better Protect Public Health, for additional background on the steps taken by the Shapiro Administration.
